Wigging out

I’ve been so excited to be apart of Classic Stage Company’s past season including their closing show ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ with Bebe Neuworth and Christina Ricci.  Although theater isn’t the majority of my work being able to do wig styling for this company has been such fun.  I think my favorite was working with the amazing wigs in Cherry Orchard including taking over the styling and maintenance of Dianne Wiest’s victorian updo.  Being an incredibly gracious and talented actress just made the job that much more fun.

My first experience at CSC was  School for Lies with costumes by William Ivey Long and wigs by Paul Huntley (talk about intimidating).  Though the actors were dressed in the most decadent 16th century courtly garb they spent a lot of the play rolling around on the floor, which made every performance a cringefest for me hoping noone lost a their hair.

Hopefully I’ve become a mainstay and there will be many wigs next season!
